CELEBRATING BC’S SNOWMOBILER OF THE YEAR

Dear Members of the BC Snowmobile Federation,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the recipient of this year's BC Snowmobiler of the Year award. This honor is bestowed upon an individual who embodies the spirit of dedication, passion, and selflessness that defines our sport. Named after the revered Pat Whiteway, this award stands as the highest recognition a snowmobiler in British Columbia can achieve.

At the recent BCSF Annual General Meeting and Club Congress, Loren Tabish, a founding member of The North Island Snowmobile Association since the mid-70s, was recognized by 70 delegates from around the province who were in attendance. During the Excellence Awards Ceremony, he received a standing round of applause when his name was announced, further highlighting the widespread recognition and admiration for his dedication and achievements.

Loren has played a crucial role in securing access to snowmobiling opportunities on Vancouver Island, primarily through negotiations with private landowners. His invaluable contributions over the past 40 years also involve constructing cabins and trails, organizing wilderness cleanups, and leading fundraising efforts, including one of the province's largest Snowarama events which raises thousands of dollars for Easter Seals each winter. 

To further honor Loren's exceptional contributions, we are delighted to announce that Twin Anchors Houseboats is generously providing him with a well-deserved reward—a 7-night vacation aboard a CruiseCraft II, 15 sleeper houseboat on the stunning Shuswap Lake.

Revving up Advocacy: A Day in Victoria with the BCSF
