BC SNOWMOBILE FEDERATION LAUNCHES NEW CLUB MEMBERSHIP PLATFORM

How you purchase your snowmobile club membership in BC is about to change! Welcome Amilia SmartRec - the new digital membership platform launching this fall for the BCSF and our 60 member clubs.

Club champions around the province have been busy over summer learning the new system and setting up online stores for membership sales which commenced October 1st, 2022.

The new platform has a number of benefits focused to getting riders on the snow faster at the trailhead and reducing administrative burden placed on club volunteers. Front-facing features of the new platform include:

  • Global user accounts between clubs that automatically calculate age, location, coupon, corporate, and multi-club discounts on memberships and day passes.

  • Ability to purchase memberships for the entire family in one transaction.

  • Digital membership cards with scannable barcode.

  • Flexible sales categories that allow clubs to not only sell online memberships but also day tickets, event tickets, fundraising, merchandise and more… all from the same platform.

  • Improved data security (Amilia Smart Rec holds the highest PCI-DSS rating)

Riders can navigate to their local snowmobile club website or www.bcsf.org to find a club near them and access other helpful links. To purchase a membership or day pass, snowmobilers start by creating a new Amilia SmartRec account in the club store. Then, add each member in your family to the cart. All discounts are applied at checkout. Riders will notice that the BCSF portion of your membership is now calculated as a separate line item as well as a convenience fee to help cover some of software and other costs clubs were eating within their membership sales. This means more funds go directly to the club for work on the ground… not overhead.

“When you join a BCSF club it is more than a just a trail pass” says Program & Marketing Coordinator Nicole Matei. “It grants snowmobilers access to exclusive benefits and discounts, provides important funding to maintain BC riding areas, and supports province wide initiatives such as land access. Most importantly, holding a membership makes a statement that YOU support organized snowmobiling and the incredible efforts of club volunteers around the province”.

The transition to a new membership platform has been a welcome change for BCSF clubs. Paper memberships and the previous digital software were cumbersome, adding an incredible amount of strain on volunteers. The robust capabilities of the Amilia SmartRec platform will allow clubs to focus more time and energy where it matters… improving riding experiences for members on the ground. There are currently 24 club stores now open and selling memberships around the province with more coming online each day. Paper memberships will be phased out after 2023. “We understand that change can be difficult and this process will come with a learning curve, but it is a past due leap into the future for BC snowmobiling that needed to happen to better serve our members and club volunteers moving forward” says Matei.
