BCSF Kicks Off Sled Season at the Alberta Snowmobile Show!

This past weekend, the BC Snowmobile Federation (BCSF) officially launched sled season in style at the Alberta Snowmobile Show in Edmonton! Alongside our snowmobile tourism marketing arm, LetsRideBC, we were thrilled to be joined by our member clubs: the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club, Sled Sicamous, Fernie Snowmobile Association, Sled Blue River, Valemount and Area Recreation Development Association, and McBride Snowmobile Association.

The snowmobile show is a highlight of the season, serving as the official kick-off to winter. It provides a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with friends from across Western Canada, share excitement for the upcoming season, and discuss the latest in snowmobiling. In this digital age, in-person events like these are invaluable, allowing us to connect face-to-face with fellow riders, industry experts, and manufacturers. The Alberta Snowmobile Show lets us get hands-on with the latest gear and talk directly with specialists about new parts, services, and innovations.

We would like to acknowledge the incredible work done by the Alberta Snowmobile Association to host this event each year. Our gratitude also extends to the many clubs, companies, and organizations that participated with booths and exhibits, helping to kick off the season in style.

Club Highlights:

  • The BCSF officially began our 60th anniversary celebration campaign and launched the brand new 2024-2025 LetsRideBC Snowmobile Visitor Guide!

  • The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club took this opportunity to launch their brand-new 2025 Frisby Ridge swag design, which was a big hit.

  • McBride was also on hand to provide updates about the Renshaw Closure, sharing positive momentum towards ensuring that the community and riding areas are open for business as usual this winter. Both the McBride and Blue River booths were packed all weekend, representing the closest riding destinations to Edmonton. It was fantastic to see the overwhelming support these clubs received from eager riders.

  • The Fernie Snowmobile Association had two of their expert snowcat mechanics on site, fielding questions about their incredible 220 km of trails that are groomed seven nights a week. You can learn more about BC Snowmobile club grooming programs, including some cool photos of the program at Fernie HERE.

  • The Valemount team attracted attention with their new swag as well as stay-and-play packages, showcasing local partnerships and premiering their new sled accessed ski and snowboard video—an exciting highlight of the event.

  • Sled Sicamous, always a crowd favorite, was buzzing with energy as attendees inquired about their upcoming events, including the Show and Shine and Film Festival happening this weekend!

Another key highlight was Avalanche Canada, which provided valuable presentations on the troubling trend of snowmobile fatalities occurring when riders trigger avalanches while trying to assist friends stuck on slopes. This critical issue underscores the importance of ongoing avalanche safety awareness, and we look forward to future updates from Avalanche Canada on how snowmobilers can take proactive measures to prevent such tragedies. Their work is vital in educating riders, and we encourage everyone to take a course, stay informed and actively contribute to the safety of themselves and others in the backcountry.

Events like the Alberta Snowmobile Show are about more than just gear and gadgets—they’re about community. Whether it's checking out the latest in snowmobiling tech or sharing stories with fellow riders, these shows keep the stoke high for the season ahead.

We’re excited to kick off another winter with all of you! See you on the trails!
