BC Snowmobile Federation Executive Director Donegal Wilson Announces Candidacy for Government in Boundary Similkameen Riding

August 12, 2024 – The BC Snowmobile Federation (BCSF) is proud to announce that its Executive Director, Donegal Wilson, will be running as the Conservative Party of BC's candidate for the Boundary Similkameen riding in the upcoming election.

"Growing up in Tulameen and living in the Similkameen Valley, I've always been deeply connected to our land, our people, and our way of life," says Wilson. "From growing up on a cattle ranch to working in small businesses and leading the BC Snowmobile Federation, my journey has been all about community, hard work, and standing up for what matters. Now, I’m ready to take that commitment to the next level, " Wilson emphasizes. 

The BCSF is dedicated to recognizing the diverse perspectives, values, and objectives of its member clubs, riders, and staff around the province.  "For many years, Donegal has been an integral supporter of the work being done on the ground by BC snowmobile clubs and outdoor recreation organizations," says Adam McDonald, President of the BCSF. "Her leadership, knowledge, and skills have been an asset to organized snowmobiling in this province, and the Federation looks forward to supporting her as she leans into her interest to take her voice farther within the halls of government."

While running for election, Wilson will continue her role as Executive Director of the BCSF with the full support of the Board and staff. She will maintain her leadership and responsibilities through the election phase until October 19th, at which point the Federation will revisit the situation and make any necessary adjustments. The BCSF assures riders, clubs, and industry stakeholders across the province that this is a positive step for both Donegal and the Federation. We are committed to continuing the leadership, expert support, and guidance that our members have come to expect over the 60 years we have been the voice of organized snowmobiling in British Columbia.
