ADVENTURE HAS A JOB DESCRIPTION - AND IT STARTS HERE

Explore careers in BC’s snowmobile industry: from guiding and grooming to guest experience.

You trained for the mountains — now it’s time to work in them.

Each year, BC’s snowmobile clubs welcome thousands of riders, manage critical backcountry infrastructure, and keep the heart of winter recreation beating across the province. What many students don’t realize is this: Snowmobiling isn’t just a sport — it’s a career path. And it’s growing.

A BACKBONE OF BC’S WINTER ECONOMY

Snowmobiling plays a major role in BC’s tourism and recreation economy, generating $299.2 million in annual economic output and supporting more than 4,200 jobs province-wide.

Led by over 60 active snowmobile clubs — from Vancouver Island to the Kootenays — the BC Snowmobile Clubs are the is the largest manager of public recreation sites in the province outside of BC Parks. Our member clubs maintain:

  • 90+ designated recreation sites

  • Over 18,000 km of trails

That’s a massive winter network — and it needs skilled, driven people to help keep it running.

THE OPPORTUNITY IS GROWING

As the sport grows and club operations become more complex, many organizations are shifting from all-volunteer to hybrid and fully staffed models. That means more paid roles — and more chances for you to turn your training into a real job.

Current and emerging roles include:

  • Snowcat Groomer Operators & Heavy Duty Mechanics

  • Certified Guides and Avalanche Safety Technicians

  • Marketing, Events & Guest Experience

  • Operations Management & Administrative Roles

Whether you’re looking for a co-op placement, seasonal gig, or a long-term career, BC’s snowmobile industry offers real-world experience where your education and passion meet.
