Announcing the 2025 BCSF Excellence Award Winners!

The BC Snowmobile Federation (BCSF) proudly hosted the 2025 Excellence Awards in Squamish, BC, on March 22, 2025, as part of the Federation’s 60th Anniversary Club Congress and Annual General Meeting. This special weekend brought together member clubs, industry leaders, and dedicated snowmobilers to recognize outstanding contributions and support for the recreational activity of snowmobiling across British Columbia.

The BCSF Snowmobile Excellence Awards honor individuals, snowmobile clubs, associations, and businesses in BC that have significantly contributed to showcasing the popularity and overall appeal of the sport. These awards celebrate those who have made remarkable efforts to promote solidarity and responsibility within the snowmobile community or have provided exceptional service to snowmobilers over the past year.

Nominations for these prestigious awards come directly from the snowmobiling community. Riders submit their nominations to their local clubs, which then review and forward their top nominees to the Federation for committee review. This year, the enthusiasm for recognizing excellence was overwhelming, with over 178 nominations submitted for the Snowmobile Club of the Year category alone.

The BCSF, alongside our member clubs, is proud to recognize the following outstanding individuals and organizations for their achievements:

  • Youth Snowmobiler of the Year – Madison Schubert (Hunters Range Snowmobile Association)

  • Groomer of the Year – Adam McDonald (Merritt Snowmobile Club)

  • Family of the Year – The Lewis Hounslow Family (Hunters Range Snowmobile Association)

  • Dealership of the Year – Forest Powersports (Kakwa Park Snowmobile Club)

  • Tourism Promotion and Development Award – Tumbler Ridge Outdoor Recreation Association (Tumbler Ridge Riders)

  • BC Snowmobiler of the Year – Simon Rizzardo (Merritt Snowmobile Club)

  • Snowmobile Club of the Year – Fernie Snowmobile Association

  • BCSF President’s Award – Donegal Wilson

Twin Anchors Houseboats assisted the BC Snowmobile Federation recognize the outstanding contributions of BC’s Snowmobiler of the Year by awarding Simon Rizzardo with a 3 or 4 night houseboat trip on the Shuswap.

In addition to these prestigious awards, the BCSF took this opportunity to recognize individuals for their long-term dedication to the sport. A Lifetime Membership was awarded to retired BCSF Executive Director Donegal Wilson for her unwavering commitment to advancing organized snowmobiling in BC. Furthermore, Outstanding Service Awards were presented to outgoing board members Kathy Burke, Laurie Snowball, Peter Doyle, and Adam McDonald, in appreciation of their years of service and dedication to the Federation.

The 2025 BCSF Excellence Awards truly showcased the passion, commitment, and community spirit that define snowmobiling in British Columbia. Congratulations to all award recipients, and thank you to everyone who plays a role in making snowmobiling a safe, enjoyable, and thriving recreational activity in our province!
