Recognizing Excellence in Snowmobiling… Nominate Today!
Snowmobiling in British Columbia is more than just a sport—it’s a way of life. With over 18,000 km of trails, 90 designated snowmobile recreation polygons, and an astounding $299 million in annual economic output, BC’s snowmobiling community is built on the passion, hard work, and dedication of countless individuals and groups.
From trail grooming to event planning, safety programs, and advocacy, these unsung heroes work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our sport thrives. It’s time to recognize their efforts!
Each year, the BC Snowmobile Federation (BCSF) proudly celebrates outstanding contributions to snowmobiling through the BCSF Excellence Awards—a chance to spotlight those who make a lasting impact on our sport and community.

The Iron Dog Brigade
This exclusive society honors individuals with over 15 years of dedicated service to snowmobiling. With just 130 members worldwide, this is a mark of exceptional achievement. One of BC’s own, Ron LaRoy, was inducted in 2012 for his tireless contributions.
The International Snowmobile Hall of Fame (ISHOF)
This global accolade highlights extraordinary contributions to snowmobiling. Among BC’s inductees is Curly Crosson, who was recognized as Groomer Operator of the Year in 2002. At 81 years old, Curly was the Black Tusk Snowmobile Club's oldest member and was awarded a lifetime membership for his significant contributions to snowmobiling in BC.
