About the BCSF Club Membership Administrative Fee
The BC Snowmobile Federation implemented an Administrative Fee of 4.5% this season to offset growing costs associated with administering memberships for our clubs and the Federation. In previous seasons, these hidden costs were ‘eaten’ by clubs out of collected membership and day ticket fees. Separating the administrative fees out allows clubs to be more transparent about where your dollars are going while also ensuring critical funds are directed to club operations on the ground… not overhead.
The fee covers the following expenses:
Software as a Service costs of 1% of all sales Federation wide. This includes cash, offline credit card processing, and online sales.
Monthly subscription costs of $799/month all year (not just in season)
Credit card processing fees that equal 2.75% plus $0 .30/transaction
Volunteer and staff training on membership administration
Administration and support for clubs and riders to get their memberships, day passes, and other purchases as quickly and easily as possible to get out on our trails.
The Administrative Fee of 4.5% was implemented on ALL online sales. Paper memberships will be phased out after 2023. Reverting to paper membership does not eliminate this expense burden placed on clubs. In fact, using paper memberships adds unnecessary workload on volunteers who must still take your ‘paper’ information and enter it into the digital platform on your behalf. Wouldn’t you prefer this valuable time be used to enhance your riding experience on the ground?
There are many advantages to the new digital membership platform for both riders and snowmobile clubs which can be reviewed HERE. The transition is an exciting leap forward for organized snowmobiling and riders in British Columbia and we thank you for your support.
