Community in Action: Supporting Brett Turcotte’s Return to X Games 2026
With snowmobiling officially returning to the Winter X Games Aspen 2026, the spotlight is once again on the athletes pushing the sport forward on the world stage — including BC’s own Brett Turcotte.
For the BC Snowmobile Federation, supporting this moment is about more than a single competition. It’s about community — and the role athletes, creators, and riders play in elevating snowmobiling in British Columbia and beyond.
Snowmobiling doesn’t thrive in isolation. It grows when people come together to share stories, push progression, and represent the sport with skill, creativity, and professionalism. In recent years, much of that connective tissue was disrupted. Supporting its return — on the big screen, on the world stage, and within our riding community — matters.
A Night That Brought the Community Back Together
That spirit was on full display at the FULL SUPPORT Film Festival, hosted by Mountain Sledder Magazine at Revelstoke’s historic Roxy Theatre.
What began as a simple idea — support athletes doing what they do best — grew almost overnight into a broader movement celebrating storytelling, progression, and the collective strength of the snowmobile community. The sold-out theatre was a reminder of what’s possible when riders, filmmakers, and athletes gather under one roof.
The festival also marked a meaningful return for sled films on the big screen, giving creators and athletes a platform to share their work with a live audience. From Brett Turcotte’s That’s Sleddin’, featuring a never-before-done backcountry KOD flip, to moments that underscored the real risks of the backcountry, the films captured both the passion and reality of the sport.
As athlete Chase Masson put it, “The theatre was buzzing — laughs, applause, gasps. Movie premieres are back, the hype is back, and the sledding community is more alive than ever.”
The BC Snowmobile Federation was honored to attend and speak on behalf of organized snowmobiling in BC — including highlighting our member clubs and the volunteers behind the scenes who work to secure land access, maintain infrastructure, and keep riding areas open. Events like this reinforce why community connection and rider support remain essential.
The Brett Turcotte Fundraiser Raffle
Building on that momentum, the BC Snowmobile Federation and Mountain Sledder Magazine have launched a limited-edition fundraising raffle to support Brett Turcotte as he prepares to compete at X Games this January.
While elite athletes have sponsors, competing at the highest level still comes with significant personal costs — from training and travel to equipment and logistics. This raffle is a way for the community to step in and support one of its own.

At its core, this isn’t about one rider or one event. It’s about what happens when a community shows up for its own. By supporting moments like this, the BC Snowmobile Federation is investing in visibility, opportunity, and the next generation of riders who see that there’s a place for them in this sport. When snowmobiling returns to the global stage, it does so backed by the people, clubs, and volunteers who keep it moving forward every day — right here at home.
