Sled Sicamous Kicks Off Winter with Annual Show & Shine Event

With the first hints of winter in the air, snowmobile clubs across BC are gearing up for another exciting season, putting in long hours both on the trails and behind the scenes to ensure everything is ready for riders. To help build the excitement for winter, Sled Sicamous hosted its annual Show & Shine event on October 26th at Big Dave's Lil’ Texas Smoke House.

The event saw over 41 unique entries, showcasing everything from vintage sleds to the latest high-performance models. Big Dave’s crew provided a fantastic setting and delicious food, welcoming visitors from all over, including participants who traveled from as far as Sylvan Lake, Alberta, as well as riders from Kamloops, Kelowna, and Vernon. Of course, plenty of locals from Sicamous came out to join the fun and check out the impressive lineup of sleds.

Special thanks to Simon Rizzardo from the Merritt Snowmobile Club for capturing the spirit of the event in this fantastic video edit!

A huge shout-out to Miranda Gannon from Sled Sicamous for organizing the event, Sarah Barlee for holding down the Sled Sicamous table, and Club President and event MC Greg Abbott for keeping the energy high. Special thanks as well to Big Dave and his team for serving up amazing food and showing tremendous support for the Sicamous sledding community. With local sled businesses also joining in, the event was a perfect winter kickoff, uniting the community in their shared passion for snowmobiling.

Stay tuned as clubs around the province continue to ramp up for the season ahead, making sure your favorite riding areas are prepped and ready for winter fun!
